

Temperatures in China's far northern city of Mohe dropped to their lowest ever recorded, as a bout of cold weather continued across the country on Tuesday.
A weather station in the city in Heilongjiang province entered minus 53 degrees Celsius at 7 a.m. on Sunday, breaking the previous record of minus 52 degrees in 1969. The city had suffered below minus 50 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days over the weekend, with severe cold weather expected to continue.China's national meteorological center on Tuesday renewed a cold wave alert, forecasting temperature drops and strong winds across parts of the eastern and southern regions.
