Reconstruction Efforts: Rebuilding and upgrading of staff housings

Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung, accompanied by Deputy Ministers U Htain Lin and U Zin Min Htet, inspected staff housing that was rebuilt and upgraded to blue-standard levels following the Mandalay earthquake on 28 March 2025.

The inspection covered Padauk housing blocks and Bu Kwe housing areas in Zabuthiri Township. The Union Minister observed the living conditions of staff and their families as well as damages to water drainage, kitchens, basins, water pipelines, and walls.

The Union Minister instructed to promptly repair any remaining issues and ensure safe water and electricity use, fire safety, and overall habitability. He also encouraged staff to maintain cleanliness, safety, and community cooperation.
