Reciting Mahapathana Discourses: YGN CM attended the closing ceremony

Organized by the Yangon Region Government, the closing ceremony of the Uninterrupted Recitation of the Maha Pathana Dhamma Discourses was held in the afternoon of July 9 in the Chanthargyi prayer hall at the northern entrance of the Shwedagon Pagoda, Bahan Township, Yangon Region.

First, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, along with invited guests, took the Five Precepts from the Presiding Sayadaw of Tipitakalankara monastery, Chair of Yangon Region Sangha Nayaka Committee Bhaddanta Aggasami.

After that, the Chief Minister and officials offered the offertories to the venerable Sayadaws. They then listened to a Dhamma sermon delivered by Bhaddanta Naradabhivamsa, member of the State Central Sangha Committee and Presiding Sayadaw of Hla Ratana Monastery, and sharing merits gained.

The Uninterrupted Recitation of the Maha Pathana Dhamma Discourses was held from July 4 to July 9, it’s reported.
