Receiving UNSG’s Special Envoy: DPM MOFA UM received UNSG’s Special Envoy

Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe received Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General on Myanmar Ms. Julie Bishop at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on 9 April.

During the meeting, they discussed on matters to be coordinated between Myanmar and the United Nations concerning assistance and response efforts for the people affected by the earthquake. The Special Envoy also expressed her sincere condolences and empathy for the loss of lives and livelihoods caused by the Mandalay earthquake that struck Myanmar. Also present at the meeting were Senior Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
