Receiving Russian ambassador: Bilateral cooperation and election matters discussed

The Chairman of Union Election Commission U Thein Soe received a delegation led by .E. Mr. Iskander Azizov, Ambassador of Russian Federation to Myanmar at the reception hall of the UEC Office, Nay Pyi Taw at 10 AM on 16th January.

At the meeting, the UEC Chairman explained the 76 years period of friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and Russian Federation, bilateral cooperation in unity than before, after signing for cooperation in election matters between UEC and Russian Federation Central Election Commission and the continuation of cooperation between the commissions, study tour to the Russian Federation local election during September of 2023 and the preparations for holding free and fair election in line with the future work plans of the State Administration Council.

The Russian Ambassador invited for the study tour of UEC Chairman and high ranking delegation of the commission to the presidential election in Russian to be held in coming March and status of continuation in the cooperation for the election matters between the two countries and inquired the related matters in detail.

Regarding with the discussion and questions, the UEC Chairman clarified and cordially discussed the bilateral friendship and cooperation. Also present at the call were the UEC members and the officials from the UEC Office.
