Receiving Indian Delegation: MoC UM received Indian Delegation

Union Minister for Commerce, U Chit Swe received a delegation led by Additional Secretary Sh. Nitin Kumar Yadav of the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India, at the reception hall of the Ministry of Commerce (Office No. 3) in Nay Pyi Taw on January 20.

The delegation was accompanied by the Indian Ambassador to Myanmar, Mr. Abhay Thakur and is currently in Nay Pyi Taw to attend the 9th Myanmar-India Joint Trade Committee Meeting. During the meeting, both parties held a cordial and open discussion on the key areas including coordination to ensure the Joint Trade Committee meeting yields productive outcomes beneficial to both Myanmar and India, collaborative processes aimed at increasing bilateral trade volume, the renewal and extension of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on bilateral trade, increasing the export of Myanmar’s agricultural products, including various pulses and beans to India, cooperation to facilitate the smooth use of the Rupee-Kyat payment mechanism in bilateral trade, encouraging and promoting direct interaction and engagement between the business communities and entrepreneurs of both countries, it’s reported.
