


The Executive Chairman of the Exploring Myanmar Culture & Tourism Organization Mr. David Liu paid a courtesy call to the Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.
During the meeting, both sides discussed extensive collaboration in the media sector, including cooperation between the government and the people through media platforms to promote mutual understanding and harmony. They also discussed how to effectively showcase the authentic events and true news about Myanmar to the people of China via various media platforms.
Regarding the media cooperation between the Ministry of Information and China, it was noted that in 2023, MRTV with China Media Group (CMG),Guangxi Radio and Television (GXRTV)and the Mekong Look App Cooperation Framework in the Mekong Look Appestablished by Yunnan Media Group which is an online TV platform of Yunnan International Channel.
Furthermore, they are continuing to cooperate in 2024 with the Xinhua News Agency and Myansat DTH is operated by BBTV in collaboration with China Rocket Co., Ltd., Laosat Co., Ltd. It uses the Laosat 1 satellite to provide education and agricultural knowledge to rural areas in Myanmar with the Multi Village Plan and Sky Star Class Room Plan of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).
Within the next two years, the project plans to expand its reach to 100 villages, providing DTH equipment, TVs, and solar-powered batteries, with the support of China AID. The initiative aims to reduce poverty and improve the livelihoods of rural communities.
