Receiving delegation: MoSWRR Union Minister received delegation of UNHCR

The Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khine received a delegation led by the resident representative of UNHCR Ms. Noriko Takagi at the Ministry, Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on May 26.

At the meeting, Ms. Noriko Takagi clarified the conditions served in Myanmar, matter to provide Solar lamps by UNHCR for the people affected by Cyclone Mocha, other relief items to transport to Sittwe and the implementation for signing MoU.

The Union Minister discussed the mitigation of least affecting on the people thanks to the preparations by the government prior to the hitting of cyclone, status of operating the tasks by Disaster Management Center opened since 8th of May, transportations of relief items to Rakhine State by military aircrafts and navy ships and the implementations to reduce the price of foodstuff in the Rakhine State.
