Receiving Chinese Top Diplomat: SAC Chairman received MOFA Minister of PRC

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received the delegation led by Member of the Political Bureau of Central Committee of Chinese Communist Party, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Wang Yi at the SAC Chairman’s office in Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on 14th August.

During the call, the Senior General extended greeting highlighting the friendly relation between the two countries being a good neighbour to each other in line with the 5 principles of peaceful coexistence and expressed his hope to enhance bilateral cooperations.

Then,Member of the Political Bureau of Central Committee of Chinese Communist Party, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Wang Yi underscored the firm support of China in safeguarding the independence and sovereignty of Myanmar and successfully holding of free and fair multiparty democratic general election. 

He also expressed the China’s strong condemnation on the terror acts committed by EAOs in Shan State (North) Myanmar highlighting the collaborative efforts of China in Myanmar’s peace process. 

Then, both sides cordially discussed matters pertaining to bilateral cooperation in defence sector, strengthening friendly relation, upholding peace in border areas, eliminating online gambling, scams and illegal money laundering as well as the arrangements being carried out for the successfully holding of upcoming free and fair, multiparty democratic general election.
