Reax from London amid England train strike

Rail passengers in the UK have been told to only travel when necessary on Christmas eve, with new strikes meaning train services will end by mid-afternoon. RMT workers are taking action again over pay and conditions.

Despite the disruption, travellers who spoke to Sky News were mainly supportive of the strikes. The head of the AA said there was likely to be an increase in traffic as people take to their cars for last minute shopping. Border force staff are also striking at airports with military personnel being drafted in to check passports.
