Chairman of the board of Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies, Julien Blanchard, said the cements they produce generate five times less emissions than traditional cement. "What makes our cement decarbonized compared to a traditional cement is intimately linked to the production process, a production process using very little energy.

No gas, no firing, raw materials that come from recycling, industrial waste, solar trackers that allow us to generate about 50% of our own consumption. All these elements mean that our cements generate five times less emissions than traditional cement, " he added. The French start-up's plant, near Nantes in western France, aims to become the beacon of a decarbonized cement industry, after two centuries of massive CO2 emissions.
