Rare tree kangaroo born at Chester Zoo

A rare tree kangaroo has emerged from its mother's pouch for the first time after its birth at a zoo in northwestern England.

The zoo said it was the first time in its 91-year history that an endangered Goodfellow's tree kangaroo was born there.Zoo staff have labelled the birth a "real celebration" for conservationism.The population of the endangered species has halved as a result of hunting and deforestation. The species are smaller than Australian kangaroos.In the wild, they are found in the forests of Papua New Guinea.
