A rare glass frog, a tiny animal with skin so transparent that can be seen its internal organs, has been spotted in Bolivia after nearly two decades.

The Bolivian Cochran frog, or glass frog as it is commonly known, was found in the Carrasco National Park in January as part of a project to rescue animals whose habitat is threatened by a hydroelectric project in the area. This rare frog hadn't been seen in its natural habitat in about 18 years. Measuring about 1.7 cm, it is not easy to find amongst the green foliage. Conservationists are holding the retrieved glass frogs at a conservation centre as part of a conservation strategy to breed them.
