Rakhine State Rehabilitation: Chief Minister makes inspections in Sittwe

Chairman of the Rakhine State Disaster Management Committee Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htin Lin visited the multi-purpose port in Sittwe to inspect the distribution of relief and rehabilitation aid.

They also inspected the repair work on the strand road damaged by the storm Mocha and the ongoing expansion of the Point Beach circular road. At the multi-purpose port in Sittwe, he viewed distribution of rehabilitation supplies from MV Fortune and MV Royal Venus to storm-affected areas.

Then, the chief minister inspected growing of coconut plants and mangrove forests along Shukhintha beach of Sittwe and left instructions on systematic cultivation of shade trees, windbreaks and mangrove forests to be resilient of storms.

He looked into maintenance of the Shukhintha Road, expansion of the beach circular road from Point Beach to Sittway Hotel. The chief minister also attended the coordinating meeting for rehabilitation measures held at the Rakhine State government office. This meeting focused on progress of rehabilitation, and future plans.
