Rakhine State Dev’t: Implementation Of Recommendations Discussed

The Committee for Implementation of Recommendations on Rakhine State held a meeting with UN agencies and partner organizations in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief, and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye said the Union Government has formed a central committee and work committees to implement projects to ensure stability and development in Rakhine State.

The government also formed a commission to implement the recommendations on Rakhine State and sought advice from it. He stressed that these moves show Myanmar’s strong willingness to see stability and development in Rakhine State.

He added that the Union Government has established the Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development in Rakhine State and carried out development works with the participation of local and foreign partners and UN agencies. He also stressed that Myanmar is ready to cooperate with anyone who is willing to work with genuine goodwill for the development and stability of Rakhine State.

The UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, the Ambassadors, representatives from UN agencies, partner organizations, deputy ministers, and departmental officials also made discussions. Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye concluded that the discussion at the meeting will be put on record and constructive advice would be taken into account.

He pointed out the need take into account for the social harmony of the communities and ways to avoid the conflict in the long run while the committee is implementing the recommendations on Rakhine State.
