






The archery athletes, who are currently undergoing training camps at the Gold Camp and Youth Camp in preparation for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, participated in a qualifying archery competition held at the Wunna Theikdi Archery Training Ground in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.
Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Deputy Ministers, and officials, along with the Vice President of the Myanmar Archery Federation and other responsible personnel, attended the event to observe and show their support. Following the competition, an award ceremony was held.
The Most Improved Athlete awards were presented to Pyae Sone Hnin (Gold Camp) and Cho Cho Zin (Youth Camp). The Union Minister and Deputy Ministers awarded prizes to the first, second, and third-place winners of the Recurve and Compound individual elimination rounds. Later, the Union Minister cordially met with the administrators, coaches, and athletes of archery.
He emphasized that archery, golf, and shooting are mentally demanding sports, requiring significant focus and mental stability. He urged the athletes to pay special attention to mental training and to maintain their health to achieve their goals and reach their desired success.
After that, the Union Minister and officials inspected the lunch preparation and dining arrangements for the athletes at the Nay Pyi Taw Sports Training Camp (Gold Camp). They also visited the exhibition halls in the Wunna Theiddhi Stadium Social Zone, which showcase the history of Myanmar’s sports activities, the sports achievements during the tenure of the State Administration Council government, and the statues of Myanmar’s legendary athletes who have won gold medals at the Asian Games and Southeast Asian Games.
The Minister instructed the responsible officials to ensure the long-term preservation of the exhibitions, maintain proper records, and prevent any damage.
