








The Polytechnic University (Myitkyina) was opened in Myitkyina Township on Friday. Union Minister for the Ministry (1) of the President’s Office U Tin Aung San attended the ceremony and made a speech.
In his speech, the Union Minister praised the efforts of the relevant individuals on opening of the 9th Polytechnic University. He underscored the benefits and further opportunities generated through the university and called for the concerted efforts of the responsible persons for the sustainable development of the university.
Next, the purpose of the university was clarified and commemorative gifts were presented. Then, the Union Minister and party made a tour to exhibitions showcased by the civil, electronic engineering, electric power engineering and industrial engineering students. Polytechnic University (Myitkyina) is established to turn out qualified engineering and computer professionals who can contribute to regional development and it’s expected to enroll 1,280 students under 6 bachelor courses per academic year.
