Qatari minister and US envoy welcome DR Congo and M23 peace deal in Doha

Qatar's Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Donald Trump's special advisor for Africa and Middle East, welcomed the ceasefire deal signed by the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda-backed armed group M23 in Doha, highlighting the participation of the international community in reaching the agreement.

The two sides signed a declaration of principles whose terms include a "permanent ceasefire" to end fighting that has devastated DR Congo's mineral-rich but conflict-torn east.
