The General Secretary of Qatar's Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Hassan Al-Thawadi, has promised that Qatar will continue to improve workers' rights after FIFA awarded the country the 2019 and 2020 Club World Cup tournaments.

The move will act as a trial run for Qatar, which will host the World Cup in 2022. Speaking to media after a FIFA Council meeting in Paris on Monday, Al-Thawadi added that the country was speaking to NGOs, trade unions and businesses to ensure working conditions and pay improved in the gulf state.
