Qatar minister of state arrives in Damascus for talks with Syria's new leader

Qatari minister of state at the foreign ministry, Mohammed al-Khulaifi arrived at Damascus airport for talks with Syria's new leader Ahmed al-Sharaa.

The Qatari foreign ministry said al-Khulaifi is leading the "first high-level Qatari delegation" to Damascus "after 13 years of diplomatic rupture". He will hold a series of meetings with Syrian officials “to embody Qatar’s firm position in providing all the support to the Syrian people”.
