Pyithu Hluttaw Session: 17th day of 2nd regular session held

The 17th day of the second regular session of the third Pyithu Hluttaw was held today, July 1, at 10:00 AM in the Pyithu Hluttaw meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw. Of the 351 eligible Hluttaw representatives, 346 were in attendance.

As per the agenda, the session began with the question-and-answer program. U Soe Kyaw Naing from the Kyun Hla constituency asked whether there is a plan for the government to provide support for obtaining drinking water in Kyun Hla Township.

U Maung Shwe from the Loikaw constituency inquired about plans to construct a retaining embankment along the Bilu Creek to protect wards in Loikaw City, Kayah State, from flooding, and whether there is a plan to upgrade the existing embankment. U Aung Naing from the Waw constituency asked about the completion of the 1.7-mile rock revetment work along the 16.5-mile Moe Yone Gyi-Zwe Bet embankment adjoining the Moe Yone Gyi Reservoir in Waw Township, and whether there is a plan to continue work on the remaining 14.8 miles.

U Maung Maung Soe from the Thabaung constituency inquired whether electricity can be provided to the villages of Hnget Pyaw Taw , Mezali Kwin Pauk , Sin Lan , and Tha Pyay Kone in Thabaung Township, and if not, whether there is a plan in future fiscal years to provide alternative solutions such as solar power.

Along with these, a total of 12 questions were raised. The responses were provided by Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw, and Deputy Minister for Electricity and Energy U Aye Kyaw, it’s reported.
