Putin says summit brings ties with N. Korea to unprecedented level

Russian President Vladimir Putin said his visit to North Korea last week has raised bilateral relations to an unprecedented level.

Putin on Monday sent a message to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to thank him for the hospitality he received during the visit. During his first visit to the country in 24 years, they signed a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty. It said if either Russia or North Korea is invaded and placed under a state of war, each side is committed to provide military assistance.
