Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday that he had received a third coronavirus vaccine dose, using Russia's Sputnik Light.

Sputnik Light is a one-shot vaccine recommended as a booster shot by Russia's Health Minister six months after completing the two-jab Sputnik V vaccine. Putin revealed on June 30th that he had received the domestically developed Sputnik V vaccine earlier this year.

He got his first shot in late March and his second in mid-April. Russian authorities have been striving to increase vaccination rates amid high infection and death rates from the coronavirus and widespread vaccine hesitancy.
