Putin pays homage to his mentor, former Saint Petersburg mayor Anatoly Sobchak

Russian president Vladimir Putin commemorated the 25th anniversary of the death of his early political mentor and former mayor of the city of Saint Petersburg, Anatoly Sobchak.

President Putin, Anatoly Sobchak's widow, senator Lyudmila Narusova, his daughter, socialite Ksenia Sobchak and her own son Platon laid flowers to a Sobchak's monument near Saint Petersburg State University, from which both Vladimir Putin and Anatoly Sobchak graduated.
