






The opening ceremony of Thukha Waddy Public Housing took place in Dekkhina Thiri Township of the Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday. Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant officially inaugurated the ceremony together with the officials. They also unveiled the public housing signboard.
To commemorate the facility's opening, several perennial tree saplings were planted in designated areas, enhancing the housing environment's greenery and beauty. Following the inauguration, the Union Minister and party visited a sample room within the public housing complex, which has a capacity of 448 rooms.
Subsequently, the Union Minister delivered a speech, highlighting the promising developmental prospects of the housing area due to its closeness to the world's tallest sitting marble image, the Maravijaya Buddha Image. He encouraged all residents of the housing to collaborate in the long-term maintenance of the facility.
The government is committed to providing efficient transportation and convenient accommodation options for the public, aligning with the changing socio-economic conditions. To offer affordable rental housing, the government has undertaken public rental housing projects at the state level, covering Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, and Yangon.
The Mingala Yankin Housing in Mandalay, featuring 1,456 rooms, was inaugurated in June of this year. Additionally, the Thukha Dagon Housing, with a capacity of 3,104 rooms, is currently under construction in Yangon and will provide to the housing needs of the public.
