Public Advisory Notice Issued: YRVRSC issued public advisory notice

The Yangon Region Vehicle and Road Safety Council issued an advisory notice on November 17, 2025, regarding vehicles equipped with power exhausts being driven at high speeds and racing on public roads within the Region.

According to the release, it has been observed that vehicles equipped with power exhausts on public roads within Yangon Region are causing undesirable issues such as public alarm, nuisance, disruption to other vehicles, and accidents due to high-speed driving and racing.

It has also been found that drivers often operate vehicles under the influence of alcohol or stimulant drugs. Motorcycles modified to create excessive noise are operating unlawfully and in violation of discipline, without adhering to the laws and by-laws issued concerning vehicle safety and motor vehicle management.

Therefore, under Section 91(a), offenders can be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding one month, or a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand kyats, or both. If the offense is repeated, under Section 91(b), the offender shall be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months, or a fine not exceeding three hundred thousand kyats, or both.

Furthermore, it has been learned that shops selling power exhausts and workshops installing them will also be effectively actioned according to the law by the relevant departments.
