Public Advisory: MOH announcement on diarrhea cases in Yangon Region

The Ministry of Health issued an announcement concerning the outbreak of diarrhea in Yangon Region on Saturday. Since early June, there has been an annual occurrence of diarrhea cases in the region, as is usual during the rainy season.

However, severe cases of diarrhea were identified by the end of June in some townships of Yangon East District, including Thaketa Township, with some patients being hospitalized. No fatalities have been reported yet due to these cases.

The public is advised to exercise caution regarding personal hygiene and proper disposal of waste. If symptoms of severe diarrhea are detected, it is advised to seek medical treatment at the nearest clinics and hospitals.
