Public Advisory: Mann Creek Dam water level update

The Minbu District Irrigation and Water Resource Utilization Management Department has made a public advisory to address concerns about the recent increase in water levels at Mann Creek Dam in Ngape Township, Magway Region.

As of July 26th, the water level at Mann Creek Dam has exceeded its full brim point by about 3.2 feet. The department has clarified that this situation is part of the dam’s normal operational process, as the dam is currently at full capacity.

With a Reduce Level height of 640 feet, the dam's full brim point is set at 625 feet. Observations made at 6:00 a.m. on July 27th show that the water level has reached over 628 feet, surpassing the brim point by about 3.2 feet.

The dam is equipped with two main spillways and two auxiliary spillways to ensure its structural integrity and manage excess water. The maximum high flood level for the dam is 633.5 feet. The department will continue to provide timely updates on the situation as it progresses.
