Provision of Shelters: Relief measures for displaced persons

Magway Region Government handed over the houses to the displaced persons from KyinDwe area of Kan Pet Let Township in Chin State. Chief Minister U Tint Lwin attended the ceremony and presented the related documents of houses to the displaced persons.

Over 100 displaced persons have fled their natives due to the armed conflicts in early September. They were temporarily accommodated at the hostel in Magway University. The Regional Government provides arrangements for accommodation, employment opportunities, food provisions, education and health facilities for them.

In addition, land plots have been provided in Mae HlaTaung Village-tract, along with the provisions of basic necessities including transportation, water and power supply. The Regional Government has spent more than 79 million kyat cash assistance for provisions to the displaced persons from KyinDwe Area.
