Providing Seeds and Fertilizers: Taninthayi Region CM provided rice seeds and fertilizers

The occasion of providing rice seeds and compound fertilizer for the farmers of the model village utilized comprehensive advance technologies and contributor farmers in the Townships of Dawei District in Taninthayi Region was held at the hall of Dewei Township in the morning on Friday.

At the occasion, the Region Chief Minister U MyatKo urged the cooperation of the farmers and departments for obtaining par acre high yielding because the rice production included monsoon and summer paddy in Taninthayi Region was only 73.44% in 2023-2024 fiscal year and it’s just for regional sufficiency.

The farmers are suggested to cultivate summer paddy and beans instead  of only summer paddy for the properity of the farmers in the coming year. It’s essential to carry out for the sufficiency of rice and rice provisions. It's learnt that the farmers encountered many difficulties as the price of betel nut slumped last year. If the farmers cultivate the coffee and Cocoa as secondary crop among the betal nut trees, the farmer will be prosperous even during the price dipping of betal nut etc.

Next, the staff office of Region department of Agriculture reported the distribution of 0.8 million saplings of coffee and 0.2 million of cocoa for the cultivation in 2024-2025 fiscal year and then, Chief Minister, Chief Justice of Region High Court and Region Ministers provided rice seeds, organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer to the contributor farmers in Dawei District. U Aung Nay Soe expressed words of thanks on behalf of all farmers and the Chief minister and officials viewed the display booth exhibited in the hall, it’s reported.
