Providing healthcare services: Mobile special medical team provided health services

Starting from 15th May, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has been providing medical services to the victims affected by Cyclone (Mocha).

Field survey from the mobile medical teams, the emergency response teams, department and branches of rural health under MOH to rural areas, providing medical treatment to out-patients and in-patients in public hospitals and opening temporary operation rooms for patients who require surgery are being carried out.

In addition, in accordance with the guidance of the Chairman of SAC, efforts are being made to carry out the reconstruction tasks of public health infrastructure before monsoon.

Also, with the aims to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, the emergency response medical teams is taking special emphasis on providing medical treatment, raising health awareness, chlorination of water storage tanks and wells, distribution of water purification tablets, disease prevention and control activities and health education activities in dengue transmission areas in Rathaetaung, Pauktaw, Kyauktaw, Minbya, Maungdaw and Ponnakyun townships of Rakhine State.
