Providing food supplies: Rakhine State CM provided food supplies to IDPs

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, along with other relevant officials attended a ceremony to distribute basic food supplies to displaced person at the ALoTawPyae Monastery in Sittwe on Tuesday.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Minister highlighted that Rakhine State faced significant damage from the cyclone and security clashes, which have delayed the development efforts. He emphasized the importance of stability, peace and the rule of law for progress. Due to security restrictions, many have been displaced to IDP camps but the Head of State is providing basic food supplies, along with the additional support of the state government. He called for cooperation from all for the region's stability and development, urging them to live in order and unity while residing in the camps.

After the Chief Minister’s speech, food supplies were distributed to the displaced persons. One displaced person expressed thanks, in return, and the Chief Minister warmly greeted the attendees.

On the same day, the Chief Minister and officials attended coordination meeting (2/2024) at the Rakhine State Government Office to plan the 77th Independence Day celebration.

At the meeting, the Chief Minister stated that Steering and Working Committees have been formed to ensure the success of the 77th Independence Day celebration. He emphasized the need for cooperation with administrative and security forces to ensure a peaceful and smooth event.

The Chief Minister then heard reports on the arrangements and future plans for the celebration and discussed their reports. The meeting was concluded with the Chief Minister’s closing remark.

In the evening, the Chief Minister and officials visited the Atula Marazein PyiLone ChaThar and Yan Pyay Man Pyay Pagodas in Sittwe, offered cash donation for the renovation and inspected the progress of the ordination hall’s renovation at Yan Pyay Man Pyay Pagoda.

The Chief Minister and officials then toured Sittwe to inspect the township development works. After reviewing progress reports, the Chief Minister provided necessary instructions to ensure the cleanliness and proper water flow of WinGaBar ground and its surrounding area.
