Providing financial assistance: Taninthayi Region CM provided assistance

A ceremony to provide financial assistance from the National Natural Disaster Management Fund for people temporarily displaced due to terrorist incidents was held at the City Hall in Dawei, Tanintharyi Region, on Wednesday.

At the ceremony, Chairman of Taninthayi Region Natural Disaster Management Committee and Chief Minister U Myat Ko, stated that due to the ongoing terrorist attacks across the country, there has been significant loss of life, property, and public infrastructure, including schools and universities.

He emphasized that women, children, and the elderly, among others, have also lost many of their rights. Due to threats from terrorist groups, people are forced to temporarily leave their homes out of fear for their lives, property, and security.

In Tanintharyi Region, 11,000 displaced people from seven townships across four districts will receive financial assistance of 20,000 kyats per person for the month of January, totaling 220.86 million kyats, which will be transferred to the respective townships.

It means that the state will provide 240,000 kyats per displaced person for one year. Following this, the Chief Minister, Chief Justice of the Region High Court, Deputy Commander of the Coastal Region Command, presented financial assistance to the temporarily displaced people affected by terrorist incidents and then the Chief Minister warmly greeted and interacted with the displaced individuals.
