Providing Cash Assistant : Students & outstanding para athletes provided

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement organized a ceremony for providing cash assistant to outstanding para athletes under the Ministry who won prizes at the 12th ASEAN Para Games, outstanding students who passed the 2022-2023 matriculation examination and offspring of departmental staff at the hall of the Ministry on Thursday.

The ceremony took place with the attendance of the Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khaing, Permanent Secretary, Deputy Directors General, concerned officials and invited guests. During the occasion, the Union Minister said that at 12th ASEAN Para Games, Myanmar ranked 6th at the national level.

And she added that para athletes under the Ministry won 5 medals and among them, Assistant Director from the Department of Social Welfare secured  2 gold and 1 bronze medals, a departmental staff  and a student grabbed 1 bronze medal in group competition and a student won 1 bronze medal.

The Union Minister also stressed the para athletes to try hard for upcoming competitions.   The Union Minister also said that in this special occasion, the Ministry assists cash to 1,480 students of the departmental staff including 33 outstanding students who passed the 2022-2023 matriculation examination, and also provided cash assistant for 696 primary school level students, 235 middle school level students, 165 high school level students and 384 university level students.

Then, the Union Minister and officials provided over 24 million kyats for  a total of 1,517 students who are offspring of the departmental staffs and outstanding para athletes. The Assistant Director from the Department of Social Welfare expressed words of thanks.
