Providing basic foodstuff :Mon State CM encouraged selling in affordable price

Under the initiatives of the Mon State Government, the City Development Committee, the Consumer Affairs Department, the Rice Millers Association, the Oil Traders and Oil Producers Associations, and the State Fisheries Department have collaborated to provide essential food items to the public at affordable prices.

On October 14, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, along with state ministers and officials, visited the sales of rice, cooking oil, meat, fish, eggs, and vegetables at reasonable prices, which were organized by local producers, millers, and traders at the Education Degree College in Mawlamyine.

Following the visit, the Chief Minister encouraged efforts to stabilize commodity prices within the state. He instructed producers to ensure sufficient production of basic food items and to sell them at fair prices for the public. He also met with responsible authorities to discuss and coordinate necessary actions.

After that,the Chief Minister observed the purchasing basic food items at affordable prices by teachers, government staff, families, and dormitory students peacefully and happily. 

Similarly, the Chief Minister and officials visited the sale of essential food items at the Government Technical Institute in Mawlamyine in the morning, where they offered their support.

Later, the Chief Minister directed the responsible authorities to ensure that the public could easily purchase rice, oil, meat, fish, and other food items at affordable prices. He also instructed efforts to further develop the agriculture, livestock, and production sectors, addressing any necessary improvements to enhance these industries.
