






Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win together with officials went to rescue camps for flood victims in Hpa-An on Wednesday morning and encouraged flood affected people who are temporarily accommodated at the camps and provided food stuffs.
The Union Minister and party firstly visited low-lying areas of No. 5 ward in Hpa-an and viewed around water inundation at the houses and accommodating at the rescue camps and fulfilled the needs. Later, they visited rescue camp in No.5 ward in Hpa-an and encouraged 192 people of 47 households who are temporarily accommodated at the rescue camp and provided cash for rice and food stuffs.
He also looked into rendering health care services at the camp and gave necessary instructions. The Union Minister and party then met flood victims at the rescue camp in No.1 ward and provided cash for rice ration and food for 751 population of 147 households.
They then visited the rescue camps opened at the No.3 high school in Hpa-an and gave encouragements to flood affected people and provided assistance. They then met flood affected people who are temporarily accommodated at the compound of Shwe Yin Myaw Pyi Taw Aye Pagoda and provided cash and food. In the afternoon, they then visited rescue camp opened at Kyon Doe High School in Kawkareik township to encourage flood victims and provided assistance.
After that, they met flood affected households at the Dhamma Thukha monastery in Kyon Doe and provided cash and food stuff. During the inspection, the Union Minister provided over 31.2 million kyats for rice ration and instant noodles and eggs worth over 2.26 million kyats for 3,470 people of 704 households from 9 rescue camps in Hpa-an and over 6.76 million kyats for rice and foodstuff worth 842,240 kyats for 752 flood affected people of 172 households from 3 rescue camps in Kyon Doe township.
