Providing Assistance: Provisions for displaced persons in Shan State

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win, together with Shan State Chief Minister and Deputy Minister for Border Affairs, visited Hopone on Friday, and met with the displaced persons at the Sasana Beikman. They provided cash and kind assistance including clothes and foodstuff. Moreover, they made necessary arrangements for issuance of pension salary, pursuing education of for the students including universities and providing stipends.
The social assistance and foodstuff were also provided for the displaced persons who are taking refuge at Lumbini Monastery in Hopone and Taung Kyaung Gyi Monastery and Kayin Baptist Church in Taunggyi. Over 398 million kyats worth of provisions were provided for more than 10,000 displaced persons in Hopone and over 5,000 from Taunggyi Township.
