Providing assistance: Provisions for cyclone affected houses in Chin State

A ceremony to provide corrugated zinc sheets, irons, timbers for 926 houses damaged by cyclonic storm MOCHA in Chin State was held at the Chin State General Administrative Department in Hakha on Friday.

At the ceremony, Lt-Gen Min Naing from the Ministry of Defence said that on Cyclon MOCHA rehabilitation tasks has been carried out the step by step. Repairing of the communication lines has been prioritized and services can be given better than before.

Damaged schools could be repaired on time before the school opening day. He called for cooperation in distribution of the provisions for the 926 damaged houses at soonest and participation in peace, stability and prosperity in Chin State.

Later, Chin State Chief Minister Dr Wong Hsun Htan gave a speech. It was followed by the cash providing ceremony for damaged buildings by cyclone MOCHA in 6 townships of Chin State.

At the event, the State Chief Minister presented 29.830 million kyats for Hakha Township, the Chin State Security and Border Affairs Minister presented 22.675 million kyats for Falam township, and officials also provided cash assistance for the respective townships through officials.

Next, the Chin State minister for Natural Resources presented 3 million kyats for social organizations in cyclone-affected six townships with the rate of 500,000 kyats for each township.
