





The ceremony of discussion on the development of rice production and providing monsoon season agricultural inputs for the local farmers was held at the Cooperatives society of Aung Myay Yeiktha Rice production in Tatkone Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council area in the afternoon on 19th June with the attendance of Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe.
First, the Chairman of Myanmar rice Federation U Ye Min Aung clarified the status of implementing to produce rice pedigree seeds under the cooperatives system in the Nay Pyi Taw Council area with the collaboration of State, private entrepreneurs, cooperatives societies and local farmers and the plans to be cooperated for the development of villages.
Next, the Union Minister U Hla Moe explained the work activities of the Ministry and gave suggestions for local farmers to collaborate for the emergence of commercial agricultural industries by forming the cooperatives and other necessary instructions.
Then, the Nay Pyi Taw Council member (1) Col. Ye Moe clarified the status of growing summer and monsoon rice and the availability of pedigree seeds.
Next, the Director General Dr. Ye Tint Tun of the Department of Agriculture explained the seed requirement for the entire country, capacity of production and requirement of further expansion, availability of climate adapted pedigree seeds and the technical assistance for the agricultural sector.
Then, a local farmer expressed words of thanks. After that, the Union Minister U Hla Moe and officials provided inputs for the monsoon rice cultivation including seeds and fertilizers to the farmers who will produce under contract farming, it’s learnt.
