Protesters gather outside UK immigration centre

Around 50 protesters gathered outside an immigration facility in the UK county of Kent on Wednesday, demonstrating against conditions endured by thousands of migrations inside.

The government said large numbers of people were being moved out of Manston on Tuesday to relieve pressure.

The number of asylum-seekers attempting to reach Britain by boat has steadily increased, and the system for considering applications has slowed to a crawl amid turmoil in the Conservative government, which recently appointed its third prime minister and third home secretary this year.
