Protecting Bagan's Historic Sites: MORAC Union Minister meets Italian Water Resource Expert

Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin received Dr. Massimo Sarti, a Water Resource Expert from the University of Marche, Italy, in Yangon on Saturday.

The meeting discussed strategies for preventing inundation at the ancient historic buildings within the Bagan World Heritage Zone. The discussions included prevention measures, dredging silt along waterways and ponds, mapping water inflow and exit routes, excavating lakes and dams within the cultural zone, facilitating the reconnection of lakes and creeks, and conducting surveys on the excavation works of ancient lakes and waterways.
