Propagation of Sasana: 7th meeting of 8th State Sangha Central Working Committee

7th meeting of 8th State Sangha Central Working Committee was held in Mahapasana Cave of Thiri Mingalar Kabar Aye Hill in Yangon on Sunday.

The meeting was attended by Sayadaws of State Ovadacariya, State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, State Sangha Central Working Committee, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin and officials. Before the meeting, the Union Minister made cash donation and offered Pali-Myanmar religious scriptures to the Sayadaws.

Chairman of the State Sangha Central Working Committee Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Cendima Bhivamsa presided over the meeting. After the ceremonial procedures, the MC Sayadaw presented the set dates for meetings and sought approvals.

Then the State Ovadacariya Sayadaws and the patron Sayadaw delivered Ovada Gatha and Saraniya Ovada Gatha. After wards, Union Minister submitted the religious matters, stating that 5-kinds of Pariyatti Exams have been held every year in Myanmar and over 1,500 members of the Sangha and laypersons passed the exams in 2025.

He added that according to the guidance of the Chairman Sayadaw, translation process for Tipitaka Pali-Myanmar dictinctionary has been undertaking and scrutinizing processes are underway to publish the Volume-III.  He also highlighted the implementation of the Pagoda Digital Directory and renovation of ancient lakes and pagodas in Bagan archaeological zone as well as the efforts for progagation and flourishing of Sasana in line with the prescribed rules and regulations.

Then, the Sayadaws recorded the lists of the State Ovadacariya Sayadaws who had demised during one year tenure, appointment of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee member Sayadaws and State Sangha Central Working Committee member Sayadaws and sought for approval. In the afternoon session, the brief reports and matters on Vinicchaya, Sasana, and academic affairs of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee were submitted.
