Promoting trade &investment: China-Myanmar economic cooperation

With the aim for boosting cooperation between Myanmar and China, to create more opportunities for cooperation and to implement mutual cooperation, a ceremony to introduce China (Chongchin Bishan) and Myanmar economic cooperation was held in Yangon, Wednesday. 

In post COVID-19, the investments from abroad are being invited while striving for the economic development of the nation and efforts are being made to be able to produce the export products from the local products, according to the official of UMFCCI.

Kyaw Dewa, Managing Director, UKD World-Class International Co., Ltd, said " Chongchin will make trading and investment with us and we need the Ministry’s support. In the end of the year, they are planning to hold China-Myanmar trade fair in Chongchin. We have also discussed that UMFCCI will organize exhibitors to display Myanmar products at the fair for promoting."

Chongchin Bishan is a city to attract the visitors because of its unique technology, businesses, healthcare and ecosystem.

Mr. Zhang Chuan, Dy. Director Mayor, People’s Govt. of Bishan District, Chongqing , said " This time, I lead the observer team to Myanmar. We expect to promote more tourism and investment activities. We encourage Chinese businessmen to invest in Myanmar. We also expect to trade more agricultural produces, aquatic and mineral products between the two sides for the interests of the two people."

President, Mr. Li Fu Quan, China Myanmar ECDPA, said " Bishan District develops agricultural technology. So, we have a program to support not only in agricultural technique but also in social and education sectors."

China is the 2nd largest investor in Myanmar and they mostly invest in the industrial sector. Through the event, boosting cooperation between the two countries can be made for economic development.
