Promoting Religion: Paying homage to the Sayadaws and Visiting the Pagoda

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife and party visited the Maha Vijitayone Pariyatti Sarthintaikgyi in Chan Aye Thazan Township of Mandalay Region, and paid homage to the Presiding Sayadaw on 8th February.

The Presiding Sayadawgyi who is also the State Ovadacariya Sayadaw, received medical treatment at the Defence Services Hospital in Pyin Oo Lwin and was discharged after health improvement. Officials explained the health situation of the Sayadawgyi, and the Prime Minister instructed the needs for monitoring and providing health care services.

The Prime Minister also instructed for personal hygiene and regular physical activity. Following this, the Prime Minister and wife offered offertories, medicines, nutritious foods and cash to the Sayadawgyi. They then proceeded Maha Gandayone Monestary in Amarapura Township to pay homage to the Presiding Sayadaw.

The Prime Minister inquired about the health situation of the Sayawdaw and instructed the officials to provide required health care services to the Sayadaw. Then, the Prime Minister and party donated offertories, medicines, nutritious foods and cash to the Sayadaw.

After receiving the five precept, the congregation shared the merits gain. Next, the Prime Minister and party visited Shwe Kyi Myin Pagoda, paid homage to the Buddha images, offering flowers, water and oil lamps. They also made cash donation for all-round renovation of the pagoda.

The Prime Minister also instructed the needs for systematic preservation of cultural heritages for public observation and other necessities.  Then, the Prime Minister oversaw the preparation measures for offering gold foils to the full circumference of the Pagoda, and offered flowers, water and oil lamps. They later toured around the pagoda platform, observing the religious edifices and instructing the needs.
