Promoting NBT in Magway: Number of visitors has increased 25 percent in 2023

Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Magway Region) is implementing to develop hotels and tourism sector in the region, to promote nature-based tourism (NBT) industry and to attract more international visitors. According to the invitation of the Department, 4 visitors from Thailand paid a visit to the landmark andNBT and heritage sites in Magway, Minbu, PwintPhyu, Minhla and Yenangyaung townships of Magway Region from the 28th to 31st of July. 

Director ,Zaw Lwin Htet ,Directorate of Hotels & Tourism (Magway) said " We’d like to show the famous sacred pagodas, cultural heritage sites and natural environment of Magway Region to domestic visitors. And also we are implementing to attract more international tourists. That’s’ why, we made cooperation with members of the Magway Region Tourism Committee and private businessmen to officially invite the visitors from Thailand, our neighboring country because we have same culture and tradition."

Thapanik ,Lamplaimat Hospital .Thailand said " I’ve never been to Magway Region before and this is my first experience. I can enjoy beautiful environment and picturesque scenes of the region. I am very interested in studying about the Lord Buddha and Myanmar traditional culture."

Hotels and guest houses in the Magway region have also been upgraded for the convenience of the visitors from local and abroad and to promote the region’s tourism industry.

Member , Aung Than ,Tourism Committee (Magway) said " In cooperation with Myanmar Hoteliers Association (Magway) and private sector, we implemented as a fam trip by inviting guests to attract more international visitors. Plans are underway to boost tourism industry of Magway region as well as in other regions and states by conducting new destinations."

In Magway Region, there are 57 hotels and guest houses and preparations have been made for convenience of the visitors. In 2022, the number of visitors reached nearly 1 million in Magway Region and in compared with the short term period of previous year, it has increased to 25 percent in this year.
