Promoting market for Myanmar products: Meeting with commercial counsellors from foreign countries

Union Minister for Commerce U Aung Naing Oo held a virtual meeting with 16 commercial counsellors who are discharging duties at Myanmar embassies/Myanmar Consulate-General offices in 12 foreign countries and counselors who are serving in the World Trade Organizational Myanmar representative office from the Ministry on 12th July.

At the meeting, the Union Minister discussed with the commercial counsellors to promote markets and  seek more markets for Myanmar’s exports by getting more contacts with importers and governmental organizations from relevant countries, more displays of Myanmar products in the trade expos of respective countries and having more contacts, to apply widely business information that can benefit to the country, providing necessary assistance to requests of local MSME business owners by meeting with virtual system, to distribute trade and investment information of Myanmar to relevant countries on a wide range and to effectively carry out investment promotion.

Later, the Deputy Minister, Permanent secretary and Director Generals discussed future work programs for commercial counsellors in the respective sectors. The commercial counsellors then reported implementations by respective countries and the needs on which the Union Minister coordinated essentials.
