Promoting Literature : New book shop opened in Loikaw

To commemorate the 74th Anniversary of Kayah State Day, the Information and Public Relations Department organized the opening ceremony of Loikaw Literature Book Shop at Daw U Khu Ward on Thursday.

In his speech, Chief Minister U Sein Oo said the bookshop is opened for those who enjoy reading. In order to nurture the reading habits of youths and familiar with literature, the Kayah State government establishes libraries, donates books and publications and organize reading habits promotion festivals.

And, the locals are urged for continuous development of the newly opened bookshop. The Director of the State Information and Public Relations Department later clarified the purpose of the opening of bookshop, expressing words of thanks. The Chief Minister then presented cash rewards to the performance troupes.

This was followed by opening of new bookshop by cutting ceremonial ribbons by the Chief Minister and officials. Later, the Chief Minister and officials toured around the bookshop and new office building of the department.
