






Russia-Myanmar Cooperation Strategies Forum took place at Moscow State Institute of International Relations on 24th April.
The conference is part of the activities to commemorate the 75th anniversary diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Russia. Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Aung Thaw joined the conference via online, and made a speech.
He expressed thanks to Russia-Myanmar Association for Friendship and Cooperation for organizing the conference. He said the diplomatic relations between the two countries is strengthening with mutual benefits, reciprocal values and understandings.
Although the two countries are far apart according to the geographical condition, the people to people relations could help overcome the challenges. Based on this relation, cooperation could be made in trade, economy, tourism and industry.
He stressed that the forum could help implement the strategies for implementation of bilateral cooperation projects. On the 25th, the Union Minister attended Myanmar-St. Petersburg Tourism Forum and gave a speech He said tourism sector is the one of the promising sectors for promoting mutual benefits.
Direct air way and payment system are the most important matters. Efforts are being made for attracting more tourists from Russia to Myanmar by forming the Leading Committee and Work Committee which comprise with the Government and private sector under the “Welcome Russia” program. He called for cooperation of government and private sectors for achieving the goal.
