Projects launching ceremony: MCRD UM attended the ceremony

The Small-Scale Industries Departmentunder the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development has been granted approval to implement two projects under the Mekong-Lancang Special Fund 2024.

The launching ceremony for the projects was held at the Mingalarthiri Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on 4th December, with the Union Minister U Hla Moe, Deputy Minister U Myint Soe, Second Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar Mr. Zhang Zhonghua, invited guests from relevant departments, and departmental officials in attendance.

In his address, the Union Minister U Hla Moe emphasized that the ministry is striving to promote the development of small-scale industries, create job opportunities for rural populations, and foster small-scale production businesses based on raw materials from rural areas, in line with the ministry’s objectives. He explained that the Small-Scale Industries Department is implementing two projects under the Mekong-Lancang Special Fund 2024 including “Encouraging Small Scale Industries in Agro-Based Sector” and “Enhancing Digital Skill of Micro & Small Industries for fostering the growth of MSMEs and Sustainable Development of Digital Economy”.

These projects will be implemented over a two-year period from September 2024 to August 2026.Next, the Second Secretary Mr. Zhang Zhonghua of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Myanmar and a representative from  Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Coordination Committee of Myanmarunder the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also gave the remars related to the two projects supported by the Mekong-Lancang Special Fund 2024.

After taking part in a group photo session by the Union Minister together with the attendees to commemorate the event, the ceremony was concluded, it’s learnt.
