Prize Awarding: Winners of Tazaungdaing Events awarded

Hot Air Balloon releasing Festival was held at Maravijaya Buddha Park in Nay Pyi Taw on November 15th in conjunction with the presentation of prizes to the winners of Non-Stale Robe Weaving Competition.

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife attended the ceremony together with the visiting Russian delegation led by the Head of Republic of Buryatia. Prior to the ceremony, they offered flowers, water and oil lamps to the Maravijaya Buddha Image, and paid homage to the Buddha Image.

The Prime Minister and party later enjoyed the competing of Sein Na Pan and Nya Mee Gyi hot air balloons releasing. During the event, Myat Yaung Chel Sein Na Pan hot air balloon was released as a gesture of friendship between Myanmar and Russia.

While preparations were being made for releasing hot air balloons, the ethnic cultural troupes performed with songs and dances. Then, the Prime Minister and the visiting Russian delegation took a tour of Stone Inscription Cetis.

This was followed by prize presentation ceremony, and the winning trophies, cash rewards and certificates of honour were presented to the winning teams including the best discipline, the best team work, the best texture and the best weaving teams.

The team representing Mandalay Region won the first prize at the Non-Stale Robe Weaving Competition while Tanintharyi and Sagaing Region ranked second and third places. For Hot Air Balloon Releasing Festival, prizes were presented to the best discipline, the best attraction, the best innovation, the best performances and the most beautiful design along with the first, second and third prizes.

The team representing the Ministry of Defence won first prize at Sein Na Pan Hot Air Balloon Releasing Competition, while the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations grabbed second and third prizes.

For Nya Mee Gyi Hot Air Balloon, the Ministry of Transport and Communication won first prize, the Ministry of Home Affairs second and the Ministry of Border Affairs third respectively. The Tazaungdaing Lighting Festival was held at the Maravijaya Buddha Park for three days from November 13th to 15th, featuring variety of activities.
